Janelle Manahan asks DFA to cancel passport of Ramona Bautista
The girlfriend of slain actor Ram Revilla (Ramgen Bautista in real life) on Friday asked the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to cancel the passport of Ramona Bautista, Ram's sister who is among the suspects in his killing.
In a report aired over GMA News TV's News TV Live, reporter Julius Segovia quoted Manahan's lawyers as saying that Ramona's fleeing the country intensified suspicions that she was really involved in the killing of his brother late October last year.
Manahan's camp was also quoted as saying that the cancellation of Ramona's passport will make her surface.
Ramgen and Janelle were attacked inside the former's home in Parañaque on October 28. Ramgen died after sustaining several stab wounds and a gunshot wound in his body. Janelle survived the attack despite a gunshot wound in the face.
Police later implicated Ramgen's two younger siblings — Ramon Joseph or RJ and Ramona — in the crime. RJ is already in police custody while Ramona has fled the country.
Another sibling of the slain actor — Maria Ragelyn Gail Bautista — was also implicated in the crime but has since denied the allegations. The mother of the Revilla/Bautista siblings — Genelyn Magsaysay — has also denied that her children are involved in the killing of Ramgen.
At least four other suspects in the crime are also under police custody.
On Friday, the camp of Manahan attempted to ask the court to place the five suspects in police custody under a hold departure order (HDO).
However, Segovia said the court did not accept the motion because it was missing some details. Manahan's camp will formally file the motion on Monday next week.
The court also deferred from hearing the motion of suspect Ryan Pastera to be transferred from the Parañaque City Jail to the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), saying it will await the comment of the NBI and the Bureau of Jail Management and penology (BJMP). — with Kimberly Jane Tan/RSJ, GMA News
