PDEA arrests Chinese national with 2kg shabu

Anti-drug operatives arrested a Chinese national and recovered two kilos of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) in a sting operation in Quezon City before dawn Thursday. The suspect, initially identified as Clarence Chen Go, yielded two kilos of shabu worth P10 million, radio dzBB reported. Go was delivering the drugs to an undercover agent who had initially deposited more than P300,000 for one kilo of shabu shortly after 1 a.m., the report said. Go was intercepted while walking along Timog Avenue. The report said PDEA agents found two kilos of shabu worth at least P5 million in his possession. A separate report on "Unang Balita" said Go repeatedly denied having anything to do with the drugs. But it quoted the PDEA as saying it had kept tabs on Go's activities for months. Initial investigation showed Go had agreed to sell one kilo of shabu to the PDEA undercover agent, who deposited more than P300,000 in a bank account last weekend. — LBG, GMA News
