A motorcycle rider fell from a flyover to the tracks of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) in southern Metro Manila Saturday noon, disrupting MRT operations for several minutes.
Rescue teams from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and Pasay City government rushed to the scene after the accident, radio dzBB's Rodil Vega reported. The report said the man, who was not immediately identified, suffered a head injury. An initial investigation showed the man was traveling on the Aurora Blvd (formerly Tramo) flyover when the motorcycle went out of control. Police theorized the man may have been thrown off his motorcycle and fell into the MRT tracks below the flyover. "Ang initial report, lalake tumilapon sa motor galing sa Tramo Flyover, nahulog sa riles ng tren," the
MMDA said on its Twitter account. The MMDA also
posted a photo of the man sprawled on the MRT tracks.
