DPWH to resume road improvement, repair works Friday


The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) advised the public to take alternate routes this weekend as some roads will undergo repair and improvement work.
 
The road work, which starts 10 p.m. Friday and ends 4 a.m. Monday, may result in heavy traffic.
 
It said the public may expect traffic slowdown or buildup in some sections of major thoroughfares in Metro Manila as its Metro Manila unit conducts repairs on the following roads:
 
  • Aurora Boulevard (southbound), Pasay City from EDSA to Aurora Bridge;
  • New Panaderos St., Sta. Ana, Manila, from Sta. Ana Church to Lamayan St.;
  • South Superhighway (southbound) from Zobel Roxas St. to Quirino Avenue;
  • EDSA, Quezon City (southbound, third lane from West Avenue to Quezon Avenue;
  • EDSA, Quezon City, northbound fifth lane from Corregidor to Fema Road;
  • Batasan (eastbound) from IBP to San Mateo Road;
  • EDSA, Caloocan City, northbound lane going to Monumento, third lane from center island, between F. Aguilar St. and Tirona St.;
  • EDSA, Caloocan City (northbound) going to Monumento, fourth lane from center island, between Don Vicente Ang St., and Evangelista St.;
  • Aurora Boulevard (eastbound) from 15th Avenue to 20th Avenue (one lane only);
  • N. Domingo Street from Banahaw St., to Balete Drive (one lane only);
  • Boni Serrano Avenue;
  • Aurora Boulevard going to EDSA, first lane from sidewalk, between Driod St. and C. Benitez St.;
  • EDSA (northbound) going to Cubao area, first lane from sidewalk between Gate 3 and Gate 2 of Camp Aguinaldo;
  • P. Tamo Avenue between Makati Diversion Channel and EDSA (outer lane);
  • Gil Puyat Avenue between South Superhighway and Dian St. (center lane);
  • C-3 Road, Navotas City corner North Bay Blvd. (inner lane) going to R-10 Road;
  • Blumentritt St., Sampaloc, Manila from Maria Clara to Laong Laan Street;
  • Reposo St., Sta. Mesa Manila;
  • Quiapo, Manila at P. Casal St., District III;
  • Manila East Road at Rosario-Cainta Road, Pasig City (eastbound and westbound) 
 
The DPWH said the repair and maintenance of these roads had been coordinated with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
