Ospital ng Makati's acute care center to shut down midnight March 25
The Acute Care Center of the Ospital ng Makati in Bel Air will be shut down midnight Sunday, March 25, to make way for a new full-service hospital that will serve residents in the city's first district. Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay Jr. said the ACC management is working to ensure the smooth transition of patients and equipment to the Ospital ng Makati (OsMak) in Pembo village. “We ask our residents to please bear with us. After all, they stand to benefit from improved access to quality health care and modern facilities provided by the new hospital,” Binay said. OsMak medical director Dr. Perry Ishmael Peralta said they have started the gradual transfer of patients to OsMak Pembo. Also, the ACC limited the admission of patients from March 5 until March 12. "At midnight on March 25, the ACC will finally shut down its operations," he said. On the other hand, the construction of the new hospital in District 1 is tentatively scheduled to begin this April. The city government said the new 300-bed hospital will integrate "green features" and will have modern facilities. It will have six major operating rooms and two minor operating rooms, Emergency Room with a Trauma Center, top-of-the- line laboratory facilities, and the first-ever LGU-managed Cancer Institute. — LBG, GMA News
