JP Rizal St. in Makati open to 2-way traffic March 26 to April 8

In observance of Holy Week, Makati City will open to two-way traffic a stretch of J.P. Rizal Street, between Reposo Street and Makati Avenue, from March 26 to April 8.

City Department of Public Safety (DPS) Director Hermenegildo San Miguel said this will allow devotees to install “kubols” or “kalbaryos” in Barangay Poblacion.

"Around 20 such 'Kubols' will be assembled by associations and groups, with statues of saints of prominent families being displayed. A procession will be held on Good Friday and Easter Sunday when the Lenten Season formally ends," the city government said in an announcement on its web portal.

It said the devotees spend time in the “kubol” to pray and meditate.

The city government advised motorists to strictly follow the rerouting scheme.

Public safety and traffic enforcers will be deployed in the area to guide motorists. –KG, GMA News
