MMDA to recruit 100 college-level interns for summer

College students who need extra income may consider working for the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority during the summer, MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said Sunday. Tolentino said the 100 college-level recruits may start work on April 15, and will do duties ranging from administrative work to helping in anti-smoking and extortion activities. “Ang layunin ng internship ay mabigyan ang ating mga kabataang gusto magtrabaho ng mapagkakitaan para makaipon para sa pasukan. Meron tayong 100 kabataang tatanggapin sa MMDA," he said in an interview on dzBB radio. He said some of the interns will be assigned to the MMDA records division while others would be assigned to the anti-kotong and anti-smoking units. Other recruits may be assigned to the Twitter team to man the MMDA’s social networking functions. Tolentino also said the recruits may also contribute new ideas while on the job. “Hindi mahihirap na trabaho. Ito'y para magkaron ang mga intern sa mga ginagawa ng MMDA at maka-contribute sa ahensya bagong ideas," he said. On the other hand, Tolentino said the wages will not be high, “pero tingin ko makakatulong ito sa kabataang magkokolehiyo ngayon.— LBG, GMA News
