Palace: Let Court of Appeals rule on dispute over TV5's T3 show
Malacañang is leaving to the Court of Appeals how to handle the latest legal issue stemming from last week’s brawl between columnist Ramon Tulfo and actor Raymart Santiago at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3. Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte was referring to the petition of TV5 before the appellate court to stop the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) from implementing a 20-day suspension on its program “T3: Kapatid Sagot Kita.” “That’s something we will let the CA deal with. From what I understand TV5 has gone to the CA to ask the MTRCB to stop implementation of the 20-day suspension. Hindi kami magsasalita, nasa korte na yan," Valte said on government-run dzRB radio. Last week, the MTRCB imposed a 20-day preventive suspension on the program hosted by the brothers of Tulfo – Erwin, Raffy and Ben – for last Monday’s episode where they allegedly threatened Raymart Santiago and his wife Claudine Barretto. The brawl between Ramon Tulfo and Santiago started when the columnist was seen taking footage of Barretto scolding a ground crew of Cebu Pacific over the offloading of their baggage from Boracay. Santiago claimed Tulfo punched him when he tried to approach him, but Tulfo claimed Santiago and some companions ganged up on him. Both sides have taken their fight to the legal arena. “Hintayin na lang natin ang magiging dulo niya, tutal dumulog sila sa korte (Let’s just wait for what will happen. The matter is already in court),” Valte said. — LBG, GMA News
