Sports utility vehicle falls into Marikina River
A sports utility vehicle fell into the Marikina River in a freak accident early on Tuesday morning. The Mitsubishi Pajero rolled into the river after its owner forgot to engage its brakes, radio dzBB's Glen Juego reported. "Umalis muna ako, bumalik ako rito naiwanan ko na hindi naka-handbrake. Nang nakita ko umabante na, di ko nahabol," the report quoted the owner, described as a barangay councilor. On his Twitter account, Juego said the vehicle had been pulled out of the water through the "bayanihan" of the residents. The councilor said he usually parks his SUV near the river in the morning. He said he had shut off the vehicle's engine and did not imagine that the vehicle would roll into the water. There was no barrier at the site of the accident, near the Loyola Memorial Park. - VVP, GMA News
