6 hurt in jeep accident in Quezon City
Six people were reported hurt after a passenger jeep crashed in a lot in the Bagong Silangan area in Quezon City early Tuesday morning.
Police said the damage on the jeep indicated it was speeding along Violago Road before it crashed at a nearby lot, radio dzBB's Allan Gatus reported.
"Medyo mabilis kasi durog ang harapan. Ang (initial) investigation namin, mabilis ito," said a member of the Quezon City Police District who rushed to the site.
Six people, including the driver, were brought to the Quezon City General Hospital. The driver, initially identified as a certain Edwin, was briefly pinned in the jeep.
An initial investigation showed the jeep went out of control while traveling along a downward road in the Violago area. The jeep crashed in an empty lot.
Tuesday's incident was the latest accident involving public utility vehicles in the last two weeks.
Last week, a bus crashed at a flyover along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue and injured eight people. The driver was allegedly speeding while texting.
Last Sunday, two people were killed in a three-vehicle smashup at a tunnel along EDSA. The vehicles involved included a bus and an Asian utility vehicle. — RSJ, GMA News
