Tullahan River starts overflowing due to rain; evacuations start
Authorities in parts of Malabon City prepared to evacuate residents early Wednesday as the Tullahan River began to overflow amid heavy rain. Local teams urged residents in Potrero and Longos in Malabon to leave their homes even as they started sandbagging areas where water levels continued to rise. Some families in Navotas City were also being evacuated, according to a report by dzBB's Allan Gatus. Earlier, authorities maintained red alert at La Mesa Dam in Quezon City as the water level there remained close to the spilling level of 80.15 meters. Tullahan River is one of the waterways that will be affected if La Mesa Dam overflows. Meanwhile, in Manila, administrators of establishments along Roxas Boulevard started sandbagging their buildings as big waves from Manila Bay threatened Roxas Boulevard. The waves brought debris onto the boulevard, including the United States Embassy area. — LBG, GMA News
