MMDA: Floods from heavy rain waist, knee-deep in parts of QC

The heavy rain that fell on Metro Manila Sunday night has started to cause floods, with floodwaters in some areas being waist-high, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said.

In posts on its Twitter account, the MMDA said that as of 9 p.m., floods were "waist-deep" at Commonwealth Avenue - Doña Carmen Westbound and Eastbound.

Floods were knee-deep in the Commonwealth Avenue - Winston Street area, it added.

The MMDA also said the Commonwealth - Palmera area's westbound part was also knee-deep.

Earlier, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration warned of heavy rainfall in the next three hours over Metro Manila. It warned of "possible flooding in low-lying areas and those located near the river and creek channels." — DVM, GMA News
