4 workers die after being trapped in septic tank near Cubao mall

Four maintenance workers died after being trapped for some three hours inside a septic tank at the Cubao area in Quezon City before dawn Thursday. The four were cleaning the tank when one of them fell in at about 3:20 a.m., according to a report by radio dzBB's Allan Gatus. A bystander was quoted in the report as saying the four had just finished cleaning the septic tank near the Ali Mall area when one of them fell in. While the others tried to help him, they fell into the tank one after the other. Rescue teams from the Bureau of Fire Protection, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and Red Cross tried to save the four. The bodies were fished out of the tank at about 6 a.m. — LBG, GMA News
