Snakes cause tension in Pasig school

At least two snakes caused tension in an elementary school in Pasig City Thursday morning, with local village watchmen forced to kill one of them.

School authorities temporarily kept students from entering the Liberato Damian Elementary School while village watchmen looked for the snakes, radio dzBB's Glen Juego reported.

One of the snakes, described as resembling a cobra and measuring 1.5 feet, was clubbed to death after it reportedly threatened to strike at them.

The other managed to slither away and is now being tracked down.

Students were allowed to enter the school past 8 a.m., the report said.

Local authorities are also verifying information the snakes may have come from Rizal province and washed to the area by recent floods. — RSJ, GMA News
