Some roads in Makati closed to traffic until 10 a.m. due to quake drill
A part of Makati City was temporarily closed to traffic Thursday morning due to an earthquake drill, the city government said. In a post on its Twitter account, the city government said the earthquake drill was scheduled at the Ayala Center area. "There will be a Building Emergency Evacuation Plan Drill today at Ayala Center, 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.," it said. A photo on the Twitter post advised motorists to take alternate routes. A separate tweet by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority indicated the area at the corner of Arnaiz and Makati Avenues will be closed until 10 a.m. Thursday's quake drill came a week after a magnitude-7.6 quake jolted Eastern Visayas, causing at least one death. — LBG, GMA News
