Floods noted at LRT-1, 2 stations; more schools suspend classes


Floods were noted near some stations of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Lines 1 and 2 amid heavy rain since early Saturday morning. In posts on his Twitter account, LRT Authority spokesman Hernando Cabrera said the floods at LRT stations included: - LRT-1: R. Papa, Central, United Nations Avenue, Pedro Gil, knee-deep. - LRT-2: Pureza Station, knee-high. The LRT-1 links Roosevelt in Quezon City to Baclaran in southern Metro Manila. The LRT-2 links C.M. Recto Avenue in Manila to the Santolan area. Meanwhile, more schools announced the suspension of classes. These include: - Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Institute for Science and Technology (EARIST), classes suspended due to heavy rain. - San Beda College, classes suspended due to the bad weather. - Adamson University, suspended classes at all levels.
