Flower stalls sprout in parts of Manila, snarl traffic
Traffic in some areas of Manila's Sampaloc district slowed to a crawl over the weekend as vendors taking advantage of the coming Undas (All Saints' and All Souls' Days) set up shop there.
Flower vendors set up makeshift stalls to sell flowers to motorists passing along Dimasalang and Laong Laan Streets, radio dzBB's Mao dela Cruz reported.
Many of the motorists slowed down to look at the flowers being sold, even as some decided to buy from the vendors, the report said.
Starting this week, many Filipinos are flocking to the Dangwa area in Sampaloc, Manila to buy flowers at a lower price.
In the coming days, Filipinos are expected to flock to cemeteries to pay their respects to their dearly departed.
Demand for flowers is expected to rise as a result.
For this year, Filipinos will have a chance to pay their respects to their dearly departed from Thursday, Nov. 1, to Sunday, Nov. 4. — ELR, GMA News
