Suspect in model's killing a victim of police rubout — witness

One of the suspects in the killing of TV talent and part-time model Julie Ann Rodelas was a victim of a police rubout, a witness said Monday.   The suspect, identified as Bob Uzman, was allegedly pleading for his life when shot by Quezon City policemen past Saturday midnight in Barangay Culiat.   "Sumigaw 'yung Bob Uzman na ‘yun, sabi niya, 'Huwag na po, sir. Huwag na po, sir.' Tinuluyan na siyang binaril," the witness said in a report by GMA News' Saleema Refran on GMA News TV's News to Go.   But according to the police, it was Uzman who initiated the shootout.   "Siya (Uzman) 'yung unang pumutok nang pumutok. Tinutukan niya 'yung mga tauhan," Quezon City Police District director Chief Superintendent Mario de la Vega told GMA News Online in a phone interview.   Four other suspects in Rodelas’ killing—Althea Altamirano, the alleged mastermind; Fernando Quiambao Jr.; Jaymar Waradje; Gelan Pasawilan—are already in police custody after they were arrested in separate operations in Pampanga and Quezon City over the weekend.   De la Vega said two other suspects, identified as Efren Talib and a certain Aldos, are still the subjects of manhunt operations.   Rodelas, 20, was seen pushed from a sports-utility vehicle and shot several times in Cubao, Quezon City last November 6. Investigators are looking into personal grudge as motive for the crime. — Amanda Fernandez/KBK, GMA News
