3 children die in Las Piñas and Manila fires
At least three children died in two fires that hit residential areas in Manila and Las Piñas Cities before dawn Thursday. In Las Piñas City, a six-year-old boy died in a fire at the Fatima Compound in Barangay Zapote, radio dzBB's Denver Trinidad reported. The boy, initially identified as Angelo, allegedly suffered from mental problems. Investigators are verifying information the boy had to be chained at night because he would allegedly go amuck. The fire at Las Piñas reached the first alarm, the report said. In Manila, meanwhile, two children aged 7 and 4 died in a fire at the Baseco Compound. The children were initially identified as Roselyn and Raymond Malvar, who perished in the fire. Their parents, garlic vendors, were reportedly in Divisoria to sell their goods at the time the fire broke out.
