FEU starts 9-day prayer vigil for shooting victims
Officials and students of Far Eastern University on Wednesday started a nine-day prayer vigil for three students shot in front of their campus Tuesday night. The FEU community offered their prayers in front of the campus' Gate 4. They prayed for justice, healing and guidance. A photo of the vigil was posted on the FEU Facebook page. "The FEU community deeply mourns this act of violence against its students and we share the bereavement of the families of Jerald and Paulo," the school said on the Facebook page. The FEU said it will hold the nine-day prayer vigil until December 13, from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. "to pray for justice, for healing, and for guidance in our crusade for security and order in the University Belt." After Wednesday's prayer, it said succeeding vigils will be held at the Quadrangle. Unidentified motorcycle-riding men shot three students in front of the campus Tuesday night, killing two of them and wounding the third. Killed were Juan Paulo Nepomuceno and Jerald Martin Ramos, who were rushed to the University of Santo Tomas Hospital for treatment but succumbed to their wounds. A third victim, Adrian Joseph Santiago, is now recovering at the Mary Chiles Hospital. — DVM, GMA News
