3 pythons captured at LRT depot in 2 weeks
A python was captured near the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 1 depot in Pasay City, the third found in the area in two weeks, the LRT Authority said late Thursday. LRTA spokesman Hernando Cabrera posted a photo of the python on his Twitter account, saying the python was captured at the depot's junkyard area. "Pangatlong sawa nahuli sa junk yard ng LRT1 Pasay Depot," he tweeted. A separate report on "24 Oras" Thursday evening said the python was captured before dawn Thursday, and measured some 10 feet. The report said the LRTA will turn it over to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources next week. Last November 23, Cabrera said a python measuring 13.2 feet was captured at the depot's junkyard. A day later, Cabrera posted another photo of another python captured in the area. He said it is possible the pythons were scared off by a clearing activity near the depot, which he said was near an estero. The LRT-1 depot is located at Aurora Boulevard in Pasay City, away from the actual LRT-1 line that connects Roosevelt in Quezon City and Baclaran in south Metro Manila. — KBK, GMA News
