Cops tighten security at SC for anti-cybercrime protests
Police on Tuesday morning tightened security at the Supreme Court in Manila hours before the high court's hearing on the Anti-Cybercrime Act of 2012.
The Manila Police District kept watch over protesters who held a vigil Monday night near the high court premises, radio dzBB's Carlo Mateo reported.
But the report said the police were also reminded to practice maximum tolerance in dealing with the protesters. The protest had been peaceful as of Tuesday morning, the report said.
On the other hand, GMA News reporter Micaela Papa tweeted a photo of some protesters vandalizing a police vehicle, scrawling "No to Cybercrime Law" on its hood.

Meanwhile, hackers affiliated with Anonymous Philippines defaced more government sites early Tuesday, but some of the defaced sites were quickly disabled as of 7 a.m.
The defaced sites carried the group's message against the Anti-Cybercrime Law, which has met stiff opposition due to its provisions on online offenses including online libel.
Among the defaced government sites were those of the Philippine Anti-Piracy Team and the National Telecommunications Commission.
