Bus crashes on its side on EDSA, traffic snarled

(Updated 9:58 a.m.) - Early morning traffic at a portion of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) in Guadalupe in Makati City was disrupted after a bus crashed on its side Wednesday morning.

 

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority described the incident as a self-accident, adding it occurred before 7 a.m. at the southbound part of EDSA at Guadalupe.

 

At least two lanes were occupied as of 6:45 a.m., it added on its Twitter account.

 

A photo retweeted by the MMDA indicated the bus was from Nova Auto Transport.

 

In an updated tweet, the MMDA said the bus was cleared from the area as of 7:09 a.m.

 

On the other hand, a separate report on dzBB radio cited initial information indicating some of the bus' passengers may have suffered minor injuries.

 

Investigators are looking into what caused the incident. —KG, GMA News
