4 killed in Caloocan City shooting incident


At least four people, one of them believed to be a policeman, were killed in a shooting incident that authorities believe stemmed from a family feud in Caloocan City at midnight Tuesday. Three of the victims were drinking at home when a group of men assaulted them in the city's Camarin district, radio dzBB reported early Wednesday. Killed on the spot was one Manolito Picio. His sons, initially identified as Audie and Eric, were wounded and rushed to a hospital but also succumbed to their wounds. Also killed was one PO3 Ernesto Castillo, who was supposedly part of the group that assaulted the Picio family. An initial investigation showed the men assaulted the Picio family whole at home resulting in a shootout. Recovered from the scene were shotguns, arrows and grenades, the report said. A separate report by dzBB's Rodil Vega said shells from a 9-mm and cal-.45 pistols were also recovered from the scene. The report quoted police as saying they are verifying information the incident stemmed from a family feud. — LBG, GMA News
