MMDA: Expect heavy traffic near Megamall this weekend due to sale
Motorists and commuters were advised Friday to expect "moderate to heavy" traffic near the SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City this weekend due to its three-day sale.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, in an advisory posted on its Twitter account, said the sale starts Friday.
"ADVISORY: SM Megamall three-day sale from May 3 to 5... expect moderate to heavy situation traffic," it said. SM Megamall is at the corner of EDSA and Julia Vargas Avenue in Mandaluyong City.
The mall, which attracts many vacationers and tourists, is considered one of the country's biggest shopping establishments.
But security is expected to be tight during the three-day sale in the wake of a jewelry store robbery there last Jan. 26.
In the brazen Jan. 26 robbery, a group of armed men caused tension in the mall when they fired shots to make their getaway. —KG, GMA News
