3 hurt as bus flips on its side along QC Circle

At least three people were injured while traffic was disrupted after a bus went out of control and crashed on its side near the Quezon City Memorial Circle, near the Philippine Coconut Authority just after Commonwealth Avenue, before dawn Thursday. The driver insisted he merely swerved to avoid hitting a taxi that cut in front of him, though passengers said he was speeding, radio dzBB's Allan Gatus reported. "Mabilis talaga... gumewang-gewang, ang lakas," said a female passenger aboard the bus (TYR-728). She said she and at least five other passengers aboard the bus prayed when the bus turned on its side. But the driver claimed he was just moving at around 30 to 40 kph at the time. Traffic was disrupted in the area as oil spilled from the crashed bus. Metropolitan Manila Development Authority teams rushed to the scene to clean up the slick and to remove the bus from the middle of the road. — DVM, GMA News
