Isko: Good but not perfect start for Divisoria night market
The night market in Manila's busy Divisoria district got off to a not-so-perfect but still good start, Vice Mayor Isko Moreno said Saturday.
In posts on his social networking accounts, Moreno admitted there is much room for improvement and asked residents to continue supporting the program.
"Divisoria Night Market... it wasn't perfect. Maraming kulang, maraming dapat i-improve at ayusin but it was a good start," he said on his Facebook page.
He posted photos of Friday night's night market where people still flocked to the area.
Moreno also maintained the city government is trying to make the night market as secure and convenient as possible, adding Friday night was a "dry run."
"Sana patuloy po ang inyong suporta," he said.
On Friday, Moreno met anew with sidewalk vendors in the city's Divisoria market to seek their cooperation in the night market initiative.
He told the vendors that organizing them for the night market and keeping them off the streets would also address petty crimes in the area.
Sidewalk vendors in the city's Divisoria district had been a bane of sorts for shoppers and motorists as they clog the streets, with snatchers exploiting the situation to victimize buyers. — LBG, GMA News
