FEU: Still no classes, work on Tuesday

While the monsoon rain and floods may have eased Monday noon, not all schools are set to resume classes on Tuesday.

 

Far Eastern University on Monday announced that classes and work at its Manila and Makati campuses will remain closed on Aug. 20.

 

"FEU Manila, FEU East Asia College and FEU Makati will remain CLOSED (NO CLASSES and OFFICE OPERATIONS) tomorrow Aug 20, 2013," it said on its Twitter account.

 

A separate report on dzBB radio said this was due to the extent of the floods and rain brought by the southwest monsoon enhanced by Tropical Storm Maring (Trami).

 

Rain since Sunday night had prompted many schools and local government units to announce the suspension of classes for Monday.

 

On the other hand, PAGASA said before noon Monday that Maring was almost stationary and is not likely to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility until at least Thursday. — RSJ, GMA News
