Flood from predawn rain renders Makati tunnel impassable

Floods from early morning rain rendered a tunnel in Makati City impassable before dawn Tuesday, the city government said.

In a post on its Twitter account, the Makati City government said the flooded area was at the Pasong Tamo Extension Tunnel in Barangay Magallanes.

As of 3:56 a.m., it said the flood had reached one-and-a-half feet, and was "not passable."

PAGASA said the early morning rain was due to a thunderstorm affecting parts of Cavite, Rizal and Metro Manila.

In a 3:20 a.m. thunderstorm advisory, PAGASA said the thunderstorm may be expected to affect Cavite and Rizal until 5 a.m.

"All are advised to take precautionary measures against heavy rains, strong winds, lightning and possible flash floods," the agency said.  - ELR, GMA News
