22 hurt as jeep crashes into tree in Pasig

At least 22 people were reported injured after a speeding passenger jeep figured in a road accident in Pasig City shortly before midnight Monday.

 

The jeep crashed into a tree along Ortigas Avenue in Barangay Ugong in Pasig City at 11:55 p.m. Monday, radio dzBB reported early Tuesday.

 

The driver of the jeep was among the injured, suffering a broken foot, the report said.

 

Investigators are verifying initial information showing the driver was trying to overtake another vehicle when he lost control of the jeep.

 

The jeep hit a nearby wall before hitting the tree, the same report said. 

 

The injured passengers were brought to the Rizal Medical Center for treatment.

 

Police said the driver could face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple physical injuries. — RSJ, GMA News
