Universal Robina building in Pasig City catches fire

A building in the Universal Robina Corp. compound in Pasig City caught fire on Monday, reaching the second alarm.

 

The fire started at around 11:30 a.m., Barangay Bagong Ilog desk officer Rolando Virgo told GMA News online in a phone interview. URC’s compound is under the jurisdiction of Barangay Bagong Ilog.

 

“Hindi pa alam kung ano ang sanhi ng sunog,” Virgo said, noting that the building that caught fire houses agro-industrial products such as animal feeds.

 

No one was reported dead or injured.

 

In a separate news report aired on GMA News Tv’s “Balitanghali,” Emil Sumangil reported the fire reached second alarm at around 12:10 p.m.

 

Firefighters have tagged the situation as “code white,” meaning that anytime soon the incident would be declared as fire out, the report noted.
