Families affected by QC demolition rebuild homes on road center island

Families who lost their makeshift homes to a recent demolition in Quezon City have rebuilt their homes in the middle of a busy road in the area.

As of Wednesday morning, the structures were in the middle of Agham Road in Quezon City, radio dzBB's Allan Gatus reported.

Some of the structures were near the Court of Tax Appeals and the Philippine Children's Medical Center.

The report said the residents who set up the structures at the center island claimed they were not given an option to relocate.

Violence had marred the demolition of the shanties, which began last Monday.

Residents threw objects ranging from rocks to bags with human waste at the demolition team but these proved ineffective in stopping the demolition. — ELR, GMA News
