Deniece’s camp wants lookout bulletin order vs. Vhong

(Updated 10:12 a.m.) The camp of model-stylist Deniece Cornejo has asked the Department of Justice to issue a lookout bulletin order (LBO) against TV host-actor Vhong Navarro, whom Cornejo is accusing of rape, a television report said.

Cornejo sought the order after the DOJ issued on Thursday an LBO against her, Cedric Lee and his sister Bernice, Ferdinand Guerrero and Zimmer Rance, who were allegedly involved in the mauling of Navarro last January 22, according to a report on GMA News TV's News To Go on Tuesday.

An LBO's purpose is to monitor an individual and not necessarily restrict him or her from leaving the country. A hold departure order, on the other hand, is needed to prevent him or her from flying out.

"I think it's just na dapat harapin din ni Vhong Navarro ang kasong rape na laban sa kanya. Kung nakitang pinaskil ang picture ng kliyente ko, eh dapat ipaskil rin ang picture niya, na sa lahat, na may kaso siyang rape," said Cornejo's lawyer, Atty. Howard Calleja.

Earlier, Cornejo filed rape charges at the Taguig City Prosecutor's Office against Navarro, who was mauled by friends of Cornejo led by Cedric Lee inside the Forbeswood Condominium in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

Lee said they rescued Cornejo from Navarro, who was naked when they arrived in the condo unit.

On the other hand, Navarro, who said he was set up for the crime, filed cases of illegal detention, serious physical injuries, grave threats, grave coercion, illegal arrest, and blackmail.

According to a report on Monday, the DOJ has consolidated all cases related to the alleged mauling of Vhong.

Prosecutor General Claro Arellano, head of the National Prosecution Service which is under the DOJ, said they were consolidating two cases because they "arose from the same incident, founded on the same factual and legal issues involving same parties."

The Taguig City Prosecutor's Office was also asked to turn over all records of the case filed by Cornejo to the DOJ "immediately upon receipt hereof."
