Another rape complaint filed against Vhong Navarro
Another woman on Wednesday filed charges against comedian-television host Vhong Navarro for allegedly raping her in 2010.
In a phone interview with GMA News Online, lawyer Virgilio Batalla confirmed his client has filed rape charges against Navarro before the Pasig City Prosecutor's Office.
Asked why charges were only filed now, Batalla said it was the "discretion of his client."
The new alleged rape charge came in the middle the controversy involving Navarro and model-stylist Deniece Cornejo, who also accused the actor of sexually assaulting her.
According to a separate report on "Unang Balita," Batalla clarified his client is not connected to the camp of Cornejo and Cedric Lee, who have been tagged in the mauling of Navarro on the night of January 22.
Navarro has filed serious physical injuries, illegal detention, grave threats, unlawful arrest, grave coercion, and blackmail against Cornejo and Lee.
Meanwhile, Navarro's legal counsel, lawyer Alma Mallonga, said they will answer the new rape complaint once they receive a copy it, the report said. — Amanda Fernandez /LBG, GMA News
