Olympic skater Michael Martinez made an adopted son of Pasay
Following his showing at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, figure skater Michael Christian Martinez was made an adopted son of Pasay City.
Pasay City Mayor Antonino Calixto made the declaration during a press event at the SM Mall of Asia, right after Martinez landed back in the Philippines, radio dzBB's Rodil Vega reported.
Martinez was also given a key to the city.

Meanwhile, the SM Foundation awarded Martinez with $10,000; the SM ice skating rink gave him a lifetime skating privilege; and he was made an SM Global Pinoy Honorary member.
Martinez is scheduled to appear at the SM Southmall ice skating rink Monday afternoon. — DVM/ELR, GMA News
