Palace to MRT passengers: Sorry, bear with it for now
Following daily complaints from commuters, Malacañang on Friday apologized for the long queues at the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) 3 stations and asked passengers to bear with it for now.
"If the lines are long, we sincerely apologize to our fellow citizens about this difficulty," presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said during a press conference.
But he asked the public to bear with it while they pursue the long-term solution, which is the acquisition of new coaches.
"The long-term intervention is that we are now acquiring the coaches. That’s the only way that we can alleviate the difficulties that we are encountering in the MRT," he said.
In the meantime, he said, the short-term intervention is to "wait until the long-term intervention sets in."
"The short-term interventions are to provide really just comfort lang talaga; and also to make sure that trains run on time," he said. — Kimberly Jane Tan/JDS, GMA News
