MMDA: Number coding lifted Maundy Thursday, Good Friday
Motorists and commuters staying in Metro Manila during the Holy Week can get a pass from the number coding scheme of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.
On its Twitter account Friday, the MMDA said:
ADVISORY: The Number Coding scheme is LIFTED on Thursday, April 17, 2014 (Maundy Thursday) and Friday, April 18, 2014 (Good Friday) #mmda
— Official MMDA (@MMDA) April 10, 2014
This means vehicles with plate numbers ending in 7 and 8 can pass through major thoroughfares on Maundy Thursday, while those with plate numbers ending in 9 and 0 can do so on Good Friday.Under the number coding scheme, vehicles are barred from plying major roads depending on the last digit of their license plates. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
