Bernice Lee, one of the accused in the mauling of TV host-actor Vhong Navarro, was ordered released Tuesday after she posted bail.

Bernice, sister of businessman and co-accused Cedric Lee, was arrested by National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents Monday night for grave coercion. She posted P12,000 bail Tuesday noon.

“You are hereby directed to discharge from custody Bernice Cua Lee aka Marie, she having posted a required cash bail bond in the amount of P12,000.00 under O.R. No. 2625721 deposited to the Office of Clerk of Court dated April 22, 2014 for her provisional liberty,” the Taguig Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 74 said in its order to the NBI.

Bernice was arrested after NBI agents trooped to Cedric Lee's West Greenhills address to arrest him in connection with the mauling of Navarro last January 22. The agents failed to arrest Cedric.

The NBI agents were trying to enforce an arrest warrant issued by Judge Paz Esperanza M. Cortes of the Taguig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 271 against Cedric, model Deniece Cornejo, Sajed Fernandez Abunijleh, Simeon Palma Raz Jr., and Ferdinand Guererro. — Patricia Denise Chiu with John Consulta/KBK/JL, GMA News
