Vhong Navarro files supplemental affidavit to counter Deniece’s 2nd rape complaint

(Updated 2:55 p.m.) The camp of TV host-actor Vhong Navarro on Wednesday filed a supplemental affidavit to counter the second rape complaint lodged against him by model-stylist Deniece Cornejo, his lawyer said.

In an interview with reporters on Wednesday at the Taguig Regional Trial Court, Navarro's legal counsel, lawyer Alma Mallonga, said they have filed a "more substantial affidavit" to counter Cornejo's complaint against her client.

"Medyo extended version (of the counter affidavit filed last Friday)," she said. "It clarifies the denial, it makes it clearer, but it was already clear in the first place, but more than that, the legal framework."

"Jurisprudence of how a woman would normally behave (after the rape)," she added.

Cornejo filed the second rape complaint against Navarro after the Department of Justice junked the first rape complaint she filed against the actor.

Cornejo claimed she was also raped by Navarro on January 17—their first meeting—at the condominium unit she was renting in Forbeswood Heights in Bonifacio Global City.

Mallonga said they wanted to emphasize that "if in fact rape on Jan. 17 happened, then Jan. 22 incident could not have possibly happened."

She questioned why Cornejo would agree for Navarro to visit again on Jan. 22 if he had already raped her.

"Because as you know, there is an admission on the part of Deniece, that she consented for Vhong allegedly invited himself on January 22," she added. "If she was raped on January 17, paano nangyari 'yon?" —KG, GMA News
