17 hurt as jeep flips after hitting multicab in Manila

At least 17 people were injured as a speeding passenger jeep flipped after it hit a police patrol multicab in Manila Sunday night.

 

The incident occurred at about 10 p.m. Sunday near the corner of Pampanga Street and Rizal Avenue in Blumentritt, radio dzBB's James Agustin reported early Monday.

 

Witnesses said the jeep was speeding when it hit the police multicab. Some of the jeep's passengers were thrown from the vehicle.

 

Police are looking for leads on the driver who fled from the scene. A separate report on GMA News TV's "News TV Live" said police initially found no trace of the driver's identity.

 

At least 11 of the passengers were brought to the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center while four were brought to the Ospital ng Tondo.

 

Photos posted by dzBB's Agustin on Twitter showed the jeep upside-down as well as the multicab hit by the jeep.
