MMDA lifts vehicle coding scheme for Tuesday, cites Eid'l Fitr

Vehicles with plate numbers ending in 3 and 4 may drive through Metro Manila's major streets on Tuesday without getting flagged by traffic officers for violating the number coding scheme.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Monday noted Tuesday a national holiday.

In an advisory, the MMDA said the no number coding policy applies to all Metro Manila cities due to Eid'l Fitr.

The number coding system was devised to keep vehicles out of major thoroughfares on certain days based on the last digit of the license plate.

The system corresponds to 1 and 2 for Monday, 3 and 4 for Tuesday, 5 and 6 for Wednesday, 7 and 8 for Thursday, and 9 and 0 for Friday. – Joel Locsin/VS, GMA News
