Viral video row ends as cabbie, SUV driver settle case

A road rage incident between a cabbie and a SUV driver on Epifanio delos Santos Avenue that went viral online last week appeared to end over the weekend, with both sides reaching an agreement.

Bill Emerson Tan Ang and his cousin Karlvin Ang met with taxi driver Glenn Remetio at the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office Friday and agreed to withdraw their complaints against each other, radio dzBB reported Saturday.

The parties filed affidavits of desistance effectively nullifying their complaints, the report said.

Earlier, the police had filed charges of grave threats, physical injury and malicious mischief against Karlvin, after Remetio identified him in a photo lineup.

For his part, Bill Emerson Ang filed a complaint of frustrated homicide against Remetio, supposedly for wounding him during the altercation.

Last Thursday, Bill Emerson surfaced and claimed he was the driver of the SUV, and not his cousin Karlvin.

Karlvin is the corporate secretary of Primex Development Corp., to which the SUV is registered.

The incident was caught on video and went viral on social networking sites, including Facebook and Twitter. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
