40 days after Servando hazing, DLS-CSB calls for ‘hugs-not-haze’
The schoolmates of hazing victim Guillo Servando are marking the 40th day after his death on Friday by encouraging students to hug someone instead of "haze" them.
In a post on its Twitter account, the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde's central student government urged community members to "hug someone today."

The message used the hashtags #HugsNotHaze and #BreakTheTradition, referring to the fraternity hazing that killed Servando last June 28.
Servando died from his injuries following the initiation rites, while three other neophytes were injured.
His death triggered new calls to stop fraternity hazing via stricter implementation of the Anti-Hazing Law, which imposes heavy penalties on those involved in deadly initiation rites.
Government investigators on July 11 filed complaints against 20 suspects in the death of Servando. —Joel Locsin/KG, GMA News
