Magallanes Interchange opened to light vehicles, DPWH Sec. inspects area

After more than a week, the southbound part of Magallanes Interchange was finally reopened to traffic early Monday, though only to light vehicles for now.

The part of the flyover, which was closed Aug. 8 to 17 for repairs, was reopened at 5:40 a.m., radio dzBB's Mao dela Cruz reported.

Photos tweeted by GMA News' Unang Hirit showed Metropolitan Manila Development Authority personnel taking part in the reopening of the flyover.

Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio Singson personally inspected the reopened part of the flyover.

Last Saturday, the MMDA issued an advisory indicating the Magallanes Interchange southbound will be open to light vehicles only on Monday.

It is to be opened to all types of vehicles at 5 a.m. Wednesday, the MMDA added.

Earlier this month, the DPWH closed part of the Magallanes Interchange for repairs.
