Gumabao siblings take to Twitter to support dad Dennis Roldan

Following his conviction for the kidnapping of a Filipino-Chinese boy in 2005, actor and former Quezon City Rep. Dennis Roldan received moral support from two of his children, who have become celebrities in their own right.

Volleyball player Michele Gumabao posted on her Twitter account a message urging her father to trust God, adding that their family would continue to support him.

Gumabao was a star player for the De La Salle Lady Spikers. She has dabbled in show business, appearing in a reality show, while continuing her volleyball career in the semi-pro Philippine SuperLiga.

"Your strength and love for God is what amazes me papa. I love you and I am proud of you!We will never stop fighting by your side. Trust God!" she said.

Marco Gumabao, a teen actor, posted a picture of a man trying to fill a laundry basket with water.

Earlier Tuesday, a Pasig City court convicted Roldan, Mitchell Gumabao in real life, for the kidnapping.

Roldan was sentenced to reclusion perpetua or at least 30 years in prison. —Joel Locsin/NB, GMA News
