Arellano University suspends classes, work over bomb threat
Arellano University in Manila sent home its students and employees on Thursday morning over a reported bomb threat that turned out to be hoax.
A staff at the Arellano University front desk told GMA News Online, "Peaceful na po 'yung area ... Pinauwi na lahat ng estudyante at empleyado."
People in campus were sent home at around 10:30 a.m., she said, adding that most members of their faculty and staff have already left.
According to PO3 Lester Evangelista, investigator at Manila Police Station 4, they received the report about the suspected bomb threat at around 10:30 a.m.
"Nakausap namin 'yung OIC (officer-in-charge) ng security, may nag-text daw sa kaniya na may bomba," he said.
Investigation conducted by the police, however, showed that it was a false alarm and the area was declared cleared by 11:48 a.m., Evangelista said.
