QCPD chief: 5 more suspects in EDSA ‘hulidap’ surrender

At least five more suspects linked to last week's "hulidap" along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue in Mandaluyong City turned themselves in to authorities Thursday afternoon.

Quezon City Police District director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano said the five are to be brought to QCPD headquarters in the evening, radio dzBB's Glen Juego reported.

However, Albano did not immediately name the suspects who surrendered.

Police have tagged 12 people, most of them police officers, have been in the Sept. 1 gun-poking incident along EDSA, a photo of which went viral online.

Investigators found that the incident was part of an extortion plot where the victims were arrested and told that charges would be dropped in exchange for P2 million.

Earlier Thursday, Albano said at least three more police personnel had hinted they were willing to turn themselves in. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
