Another suspect in killing of Cherry Pie Picache’s mom surrenders
(Updated 3:31 p.m.) A second person linked to last month's killing of the mother of actress Cherry Pie Picache has surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation, a radio report said Thursday.
But Sherwin Ledesma denied involvement in the crime, saying he merely went to the NBI to clear his name, radio dzBB's Cecilia Villarosa reported.
The report quoted Ledesma as claiming that while he knows the main suspect Michael Flores, he knew nothing of the crime.
He said he was both surprised and angry that he was implicated.
The NBI started investigating the killing on Sept. 24, five days after the incident.
On Tuesday night, police arrested the main suspect in the killing – Michael Flores – in Laguna.
Flores had been in hiding since the body of Picache's mother Zenaida Sison, 75, was found inside her house in Quezon City last Sept. 19.

Investigators earlier recovered the shorts and shirt believed worn by Flores at the time of the murder. Flores had been depicted in CCTV footage as wearing the shorts and shirt.
Also, investigation showed robbery appeared to be the most likely motive for the killing, since some P500,000 in cash and jewelry were missing.
On the other hand, investigation also showed Flores had partners in the crime, based on statements from witnesses.
"May testigo nagsasabi ito nakaplano na," said NBI special investigator Joey Ajero. — Joel Locsin/RSJ, GMA News
