Fire hits condo building along Katipunan Avenue in QC


(Updated 2:30 p.m.) A fire of undetermined origin hit a condominium building in Quezon City Friday noon.
 
The fire destroyed a floor of the Prince David Condominium along Katipunan Avenue, radio dzBB's Roland Bola reported.
 

No one was initially reported injured in the fire, which reached the first alarm as of 12:55 p.m. As of 12:58 p.m., the fire has reached the second alarm, and placed under control at 1:57 p.m.

Earlier, a resident trapped on the 15th floor of the condominium tweeted for help, saying there was "intense smoke" at the corridor of his unit.

The tweet also stated that the fire originated from the 10th floor of the condominium.

However, The Guidon, Ateneo de Manila University's official newspaper, tweeted:



Also, an earleir tweet shows smoke coming from the upper part of the building.
 

Some Twitter users said that something "exploded" on top of Prince David before the smoke reached the lower levels of the condominium and One Burgundy Plaza, the neighboring building.



Moreover, some netizens tweeted that some firetrucks that responded could not go near the building due to traffic caused by a collision incident between a car and a truck.



Earlier, Quezon City Police District station in Katipunan said the fire incident was called in at 12:42 p.m.
