MOA Ferris wheel briefly catches fire

The MOA Eye Ferris wheel at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City briefly caught fire Friday morning.

According to a report on GMA News TV's State of the Nation with Jessica Soho, the fire started at a MOA Eye generator set. The blaze spread to a ticketing booth, then to two of the Ferris wheel's gondolas.

Radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported that the fire started at 10:07 a.m., reached the first alarm, and was then put out by firefighters at 10:14 a.m.

According to SM Supermalls no one was injured, "as the ride was not yet open then."

The property damage was estimated at P40,000.
